Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the moment, and non-judgmentally.
— Jon Kabat-Zinn

Following your breath inside allows you to notice your inner world, thoughts, body sensations, and emotions. This is the space of “being.” When we slow down, shift from doing - to being, we allow ourselves the opportunity to notice what shows up, what needs our attention. When we live our lives with mindful intention, we create the space to live with more:

  • Self-awarenessunderstanding the “why“ behind your thoughts, behaviors, actions and emotions, objectively through reflection and introspection.

  • Self-compassion—treating yourself with the same openhearted, non-judgmental acceptance as you would treat a loved one when they are suffering.

  • Self-acceptance—learning how to experience life’s challenges, failures and unhappiness and still feel a positive self regard.

  • Self-care—the most powerful way of loving yourself, physically, emotionally, spiritually and psychologically, including setting clear boundaries with others.

  • Self-love to have self-respect, unconditional acceptance, positive self-image, and feeling worthy of love from others. A culmination of the above qualities.

As an IFS therapist, a collaborative divorce facilitator, and a self-leadership coach, I weave in all aspects of these mindfulness concepts to support you in living your life more intentionally, joyfully, and authentically.
