Jamie Goodman

I have a sign on my desk that I look at every day, which says:

“She didn’t just survive. She became.”

We all have it in us to just get by. I know this firsthand — life-changing events have informed my journey, and every step of it has impacted the person I have become. I walk the walk and have done my own work.

Today my work informs my life, and my life informs my work. Through experience, study, and some incredible mentors, I learned that everything you need exists within you. It is important you choose a therapist you trust, who will hold space for you, create safety, and guide you toward healing.

“Happiness is an inside job.”

When we go through challenging life experiences, we develop protective emotional and behavioral armor. In the process, we lose access to the core of who we are — the pure, untarnished self that is a continual source of love and compassion.

I am here to help you understand why that armor is there, how you can change your relationship with it, and help you reconnect with your authentic self. In order to be in healthy, heart-centered relationships with others, you must start with loving yourself.

“Follow the thread of curiosity.”

There is always a "why" when we find ourselves stuck. When you follow the thread of curiosity, your understanding of why you react the way you do unfolds and presents you with an opportunity for deep healing and transformation. It's like mining for treasures.  The deeper you go, the richer the rewards.

“Being heard is underrated.”

It’s not about being right; it’s about feeling heard and understood. With compassion, non-judgmental active listening, and a warm sense of humor, I am here to help you on your journey to becoming you from the inside out.

“By healing yourself, you are healing your children, as well as future generations.”

As a parent, when you heal your own trauma, you are freeing your children from carrying the burdens of the past. This can be an empowering transformation for the entire family.
